Kenya ambassador in Tanzania resign
Mr
Mwakwere who has been Kenyan ambassador in Tanzania since early 2015 has officially
resigned on Friday 10th 2017 so he can participate in Kenya general
election competition August this year.
Kenyan
constitution allows Public servants who wish to compete to resign in 15 February
2015.
Mr.Mwakwere
has officially announced to join ODM last week shifting from opposition party UPR,
UPR was among political parties that formed jubilee and won general election in
2013.He run for senator position in 2013 and defeated with Boy Juma Boy from
ODM
Mwakwere
is among of people who have announced to compete in senator position after the
current senator Salim Mvurya to shift from ODM and join the Jubilee formed by President
Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy president William Ruto.
“I have
been an ambassador, a very important position to serve the Kenyan citizen, for
now my role is to make sure my people from Kwale have good life”
Mwakwere
71, has served as Kenyan minister of foreign affairs in 2004-2005 later was
appointed as minister of transport December 2005
He lost
his position as a minister in February 2010 after defeated in his case opposing
his appointment as Matunga’s Member of Parliament where he won over Hassan
Mwanyoha in reelection later the same year.
